Vincent Lhermet is one of the most remarkable French accordionists of his generation. He graduated from the Sibelius Academy, the Paris Conservatoire CNSMDP and the Paris-Sorbonne University. A first prize winner of the Arrasate-Hiria international competition, he is the first accordionist in France to have ever completed a PhD in Music Performance, under the supervision of Laurent Cugny and Bruno Mantovani. He has performed at such festivals as Printemps des Arts de Monte Carlo, Festival d’Art lyrique d’Aix en Provence, Festival internacional Cervantino, Musica Nova, Printemps des Arts de Monte Carlo, Festival d’automne à Paris, le Festival Radio-France de Montpellier, le Festival des Forêts, Schwetzinger Festspiele. He has performed with prestigious ensembles and orchestras such as Orchestre d’Auvergne, Orchestre de Picardie, Orchestra Sinfonica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Orchestra Philharmonique de Nice, among others. Future projects include the release in september 2019 of his solo album “Cantares Mexicanos”, the recording of the Art of fugue by Bach and the premiere of an accordion concerto by Gérard Pesson in 2020.
